Request an Article

Contact Information Form

If you have not yet used Request It, you will need to enter contact information into the system.

To enter contact information from the library's website:

  1. Click on the Request It icon.
  2. Log-in with your myVille credentials (if prompted).
  3. Complete the contact form with accurate information.
    1. In the ID field, enter your myVille user name.
    2. Only fill in the fields that are starred.

Article Request Form

To continue on and request an article from within Request It:

  1. Select the New Requests drop-down box and choose "Article.".
  2. Complete the online item request form manually. This means you will need citation (identification) information for the item you are requesting.
  3. Click submit.
  4. Note that you can also use the left column navigation links to check the status of previous requests.   

From within an EBSCOHost database, such as Academic Search Ultimate, CINAHL, PsycINFO, etc:

  1. Confirm that you are using Request It for an article, not Request It (E-Z Borrow).
  2. Log in with your myVille credentials (if prompted).
  3. The Request It form will appear completed after you log in.
  4. Click submit.
  5. Note that you can also use the left column navigation links to check the status of previous requests.   

From within Library Search:

  1. You will see a drop-down box that says "Access options."
  2. Click on the box.
  3. Click on Request this item.
  4. Log in with your myVille credentials (if prompted).
  5. The Request It form will appear completed after you log in.
  6. Click submit.
  7. Note that you can also use the left column navigation links to check the status of previous requests.   

Receiving Your Article

After you have submitted your request:

  • It usually takes 24-48 hours for requests to be completed; however, sometimes requested items are available in 1-2 hours.
  • You will receive notification via email when your requested item is available.
  • The email will include instructions for how to access the item.
  • Download/save the item to ensure continued access.

If our staff cannot obtain your requested item, you will receive a cancellation notice via email. 

Note: You can log in to Request It at any time to view the status of your request (see steps above).
