There are different ways to determine if the library has a specific book in its collection.  Here is one way.

  • Use the Library Catalog

    • From the library's home page, scroll down to the bottom lower left and locate the bluish Finding Information tab.

    • Click on Books and E-Books.

    • Click on Library Catalog.

    • If you know the title of the book you are looking for, you can type the title in the Search For box, and click on the search button in the dark gray band near the middle of the screen.  (The default search type is by title.)

    • View and interpret your results.

      • Let's say you are trying to find out if the library has a copy of the Hunger Games.

      • You do a title search on Hunger Games and this is your results screen

Library Catalog Search Hunger Games Title

  • The results screenshot shows all three books from the Hunger Games trilogy.
  • We can tell that this particular book is not available because as the status information (also circled in red) shows, the book has been renewed.  To see when the book is due back you can click on the title and get more information.
  • The title is circled along with its call number which will help you locate the physical book on the shelves if it is available.
  • The second result is the first book in the series with Hunger Games as its individual title.
  • For other ways to search for books, eBooks, DVD's, and additional resources that are part of the library's collection, see....
