SciFinder searches chemical substances, reactions, patents, and/or journal articles. It includes Chemical Abstracts (in the CAplus database) and allows searching by chemical structure.

To use SciFinder:

1. Create an account from here*: https://voyager.ship.edu/rpas/ezproxy.cgi?institution=11&url=https://scifinder.cas.org/registration/index.html?corpKey=5D6E2CF8X86F350ABX1B02E4AD2ADF99B703

  • If a security warning pops up, add an exception in your browser.
  • Fill out the required info and use your Millersville email address. Follow the instructions to complete the process.

2. Once you have an account, you will use that username and password every time you would like to login to SciFinder. Login to SciFinder here*: http://navigator-millersville.passhe.edu/login?url=https://scifinder.cas.org/scifinder/login

*NOTE: At any time, if you are off-campus you will need to login through the Keystone Library Network page. This proves that you are affiliated with MU. Use your email/myville login and password.

Once you have made an account SciFinder can always be found on the website on the Chemistry Guide as well as on the alphabetical list of databases.
